Seven years after his mysterious death, the family of William Munuhe, who was assisting Rwandese authority in tracking down fugitive genocide suspect Felicien Kabuga, is still seeking justice.

Family members are appealing to Prime Minister Raila Odinga to assist them establish who killed him.

Dead end

His elder brother Josephat Muriithi said their efforts to pursue justice over the killing have over the years hit a dead end.

"We are appealing to the Prime Minister to order thorough investigation into his murder," Muriithi said.

While Kabuga’s name remains in the list of the world’s most wanted, Munuhe has been forgotten.

Mr Muriithi said despite a promise made by then Justice Minister Kiraitu Murungi that no stone would be left unturned, his brother’s killers were still at large.

"At the time Kiraitu assured us that the Government would not rest until those responsible are brought to book, but seven years later we are still waiting," Muriithi told The Standard in Nakuru yesterday.

Munuhe, then 27 years old, had reportedly agreed to help Kenyan police and the FBI find Kabuga.

He was supposed to meet Kabuga and lure the fugitive, who is in the list of the world’s ten most wanted, to the police.

However, the day before the plan was to be hatched, Munuhe was found dead in his apartment in Karen.
