Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, has called for collaboration in conservation efforts.

Addressing Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) personnel, he highlighted the unique role the organization plays in managing wildlife.

Koskei emphasized the government's commitment to economic growth, job creation, lowering the cost of living, improving foreign exchange earnings, and promoting inclusive prosperity.

He underscored the pivotal role KWS plays in achieving these goals.

"You have done a commendable job over the years in the execution of your duties considering the broad nature of your work," Koskei said.

He noted KWS impact on wildlife conservation, citing cases of poaching, illegal wildlife trade, and habitat encroachment.

Koskei also emphasised the government's commitment to a Zero-Fault Audit Regime, starting with Financial Year 2024/2025, and encouraged KWS to implement internal controls and risk management systems.

"It is regrettable that KWS received an adverse audit report for the year 2021/22. Highlighted issues were cases of unreconciled revenues, unsupported expenditures, unsupported property, plant and equipment as well as poor documentation," he said.

The Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service assured that the government's fight against corruption would adhere to the rule of law.

He called on officers to resist illegal instructions, undue pressure, and influence peddling.

"Just be informed that, you will be held collectively and individually accountable for your acts of commission or omission, and in this renewed war on corruption, there will be nowhere to hide," he said.

"As the Government intensifies the war against corruption, let me assure you that there will be no victimisation. All actions taken in the fight against the vice, will be in line with the Rule of Law," he added.
