Three suspects on Ocampo’s list are using their positions in Government to manipulate President Kibaki and Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka over ICC cases, Rev Timothy Njoya has said.

Njoya accused Finance Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, Head of Civil Service Francis Muthaura and Postmaster General Hussein Ali of using the Government as their attorney.

"The suspects are still in Government and are trying to manipulate Kibaki and Kalonzo to serve and protect them against their cases at The Hague," he said.

Njoya was speaking at a United Nations Human Rights Partners’ Forum in Mombasa.

Also present were UN representatives, law enforcement agents, civil societies and women leaders.

Njoya told the three to resign and stop using the Government for their own self-interest and accused the Government of bias.

"If the Government wants to get involved in the ICC issue, it should be representing Kenyans, particularly the victims, and not support a few individuals, he added.

And representative of the Swedish embassy Sandra Diesel said full and effective cooperation with the ICC was imperative to end the culture of impunity in the country.

"As stated by ICC Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo, the ICC is not investigating political responsibilities or making judgements on political parties, therefore, full cooperation would put an end to impunity," said Diesel.
