Two MPs have demanded conclusive investigations into the killing of a senior Kenya Revenue Authority officer.
They challenged President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga to ensure those responsible for the death of Joseph Chelelgo Cheptarus are prosecuted.
"If President Kabila can travel from Democratic Republic of Congo to trace stolen gold, how far should Kibaki move to unearth those who killed Cheptarus?" asked William Cheptumo, the Baringo North MP.
Cheptumo, who also Assistant Minister in Justice, said well-connected individuals planned the killings of the KRA official.
Cheptarus, who was investigating the movement of 2.5 tonnes of gold worth Sh10 billion, was shot by assassins last week outside his house in South C, Nairobi, was buried yesterday, at his father’s home at Kasisit village, Baringo County.
Speakers eulogised Cheptarus as selfless and promising leader. His family was in sombre mood.
Baringo Central MP Sammy Mwaita said the country had lost a visionary and promising leader.
