Iteere: Police salary rise on course

By Cyrus Ombati

Police Commissioner Mathew Iteere has assured officers they will receive a salary increment at the end of this month as promised.

Iteere said he had not received any information stating the increment will not be effected. He, however, said he is yet to know how much would be the increment.

"We all expect to see the officers earn better pay. I have not received information to the contrary," he told journalists.

Police are eager to receive the salary increment and some of them have threatened a go-slow if they do not receive the same.

Iteere spoke in Nairobi when he toured various police stations. He said officers need motivation to deliver better services to the public.
