The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential candidate William Ruto has, on social media, broken his three-day silence since Kenyans went to the polls.
His last tweet was on August 9, at 7:29am after he voted.
Ruto posted eight photos of himself and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua at his Karen office where he held a meeting with the African Union-COMESA Election Observer Mission.
The smiling Ruto was in a dark-blue half-puff jacket, matched with a checked shirt, beige khaki pants and blue and red and blue Clarks loafers, with no socks.
“I hosted the AU-COMESA Election Observer Mission who congratulated Kenya and voters for a peaceful election. The Mission is led by Ernest Bai Koroma, former President of Sierra Leone. Others are Domituen Ndayizeye (former President of Burundi), Mulatto Teshome (former President of Ethiopia) and Ambassador Marie-Pierre Lloyd,” Ruto said in posts shared on his Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The posts have attracted hundreds of comments.
“Wachia Fadhe hii kitu next time tutakupea,” commented Santoz Saluda on Ruto’s verified Facebook page.
“Duty officially begins! Honger Rais wa Tano wa Jamhuri Ya Kenya!” Zipporah Kering contributed.
“Change your bio to the 5th President of Kenya already,” David Rotich tweeted.
Later on, a picture of Ruto with other politicians allied to Kenya Kwanza surfaced online. Among them; are Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, Justin Muturi, Ndindi Nyoro, Kimani Ichungwa and Oscar Sudi.
