Media personalities vying for political office in 2022

2022 is a new dawn for many media personalities whose followers are set to go the ballot way. These celebrities have amassed a large following on their social media platforms owing to their exposure. As such, some have expressed their interest in politics and are set to vie for various political seats. Many have embarked on successful projects while others have sought endorsements to fulfil their political ambitions. Here are media personalities who have declared their interest in politics:

1. Jalang'o

Kiss FM Presenter Felix Odiwuor has expressed interest in vying for the Lang'ata MP seat.

The celebrated comedian joined Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party and was handed the Life Membership certificate. The seasoned presenter also revealed his plans to quit radio hosting and campaign for the political seat.

2. Tony Kwalanda

The Switch TV presenter announced plans to vie for MCA seat at Munanga.

The MCA aspirant embarked on successful projects including a pit latrine project as well as sponsoring over forty students in his hometown.

3. Alex Mwakideu

Milele FM Radio presenter Alex Mwakideu revealed his political ambitions in a past interview on Churchill Show. The radio host revealed that he has not yet decided on what seat he would vie. He however hinted that he eyes an MP seat in Taita Taveta.

4. Betty Kyalo.

The celebrated T.V. siren and businesswoman is vying for the Nairobi Women Rep seat. News about her political ambitions were revealed by aspiring politician Alinur Mohammed during an interview with Radio Jambo. He said, "Everyone knows that Betty is a media personality. I know she wants to run for Women Representative seat in Nairobi."

5. Xtian Dela.

Media personality Xtian Dela announced on his social media platforms that he would vie for the Westlands Parliamentary seat. The famous blogger however cited financial constraints and cyberbullying as impediments to his political ambitions. The ambitious aspirant aims to end joblessness among the youth.

6. Jamal Gadaffi

Former KTN journalist Jamal Gadaffi has declared his bid for Malindi parliamentary seat. The congested race for the seat has attracted other contestants including Kenneth Karisa, former MP William Mtengo and Amir Mugaisi among others.

7. Davidson Ngibuini ( DNG) 

DNG.

Former One FM presenter DNG has declared his interest in politics. The multi-media personality revealed that he aims at promoting proper governance by educating Kenyans on making informed decisions during elections.The celebrated media personality has an initiative dubbed " Who is your leader" which aims at calling out bad leadership.

8. Jackie Maribe

Citizen News Ex-tv anchor Jackie Maribe expressed her interest in joining politics. The former journalist will be vying for the Women rep seat in Murang'a. Jackline has cited immense support from her friends and followers as well as pressure from Muranga residents to run for office.

9. Mwanaisha Chidzuga 

Mwanaisha Chidzuga.

Former K24 Tv News anchor Mwanaisha Chidzuga is vying for Matuga Parliamentary seat. Last year she revealed that she had received blessings and had been endorsed for the same. She said, "I would like to thank the elders for the responsibility they have bestowed on me to fill the gap left by my mother in Matuga. I will do my best if God grants us the win in 2022."
