Four out of five robbery with violence suspects were
arrested after they robbed a family, assaulted the husband, and raped the woman
of the house in turns at Rumwe village in Njoro-Nakuru County.
In the incident which occurred on Friday, July 3, the
Directorate of Criminal Investigations says the armed gang robbed the family
Sh34,000, among other household items.
"The gang which was armed with crude weapons broke into
the victims' house in the middle of the night, ransacked it and therefrom stole
cash Ksh. 34,000, a D-light solar panel, gas cooker, a mountain bike, mobile
phones, among other electronics," said the DCI.
According to the DCI, the suspects first tied up the man of
the house after assaulting him, then two of the gang members forced the
children to watch as they committed the heinous act to their mother repeatedly.
Afterward, the suspects went ahead and slaughtered a hen,
cooked it, and ate it in the same house.
The DCI detectives conducted the Monday morning raid
following a tip through Nyumba Kumi, which led to the arrest of William Kihara
Ndegwa (26), David Ng' ang' a Ngure (22), Eliud Njoroge (36) and Geoffrey
Mwangi (36).
One of the suspects, William Kihara, was subjected to mob
justice by angry members of the public before officers rescued him and took him
