Cristiano Ronaldo was involved in an angry exchange with a pitch invader after helping Juventus to a 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in their final Champions League group game.

Ronaldo scored the opener before Gonzalo Higuain sealed the win late on as the Turin club booked their spot in the last 16 by finishing top of Group D.

But the Portuguese superstar was left angry when confronted by a fan who ran onto the pitch and pulled him aggressively as he was caught by security.

Ronaldo was shaking hands with team-mates at the time as the fan appeared to be trying to get a selfie with phone in hand.

He showed his displeasure by throwing his arm in the air in disgust and holding his neck as he walked away.

He then turned back towards the fan being escorted off the pitch by security and pointed to his head, questioning what he was thinking.

Gianluigi Buffon then hugged the attacker as he moved back on to congratulating team-mates on their win as the experienced goalkeeper seemed to encourage him to laugh off the incident.

Ronaldo's goal came as he finished off a fine move with Paulo Dybala, tapping in to open the scoring as Juventus continue to impress in the Champions League.

He was confronted and hugged by a pitch invader after that goal, and another fan ran onto the pitch and made a beeline for Ronaldo later in the game before the incident at full-time.

It is perhaps no wonder he was then left frustrated and reacted.

Ronaldo's big-money move to Juventus from Real Madrid came with a view to leading them to European glory.

They are now being tipped as contenders for the crown under former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri with Ronaldo aiming to win his sixth Champions League crown.

Ronaldo has bagged only two goals in the group stages of the competition this season, along with seven strikes in 12 Serie A games so far this campaign.
