Kenyans have been told to be wary of people out to advance evil agenda that could destroy the country.
John Cardinal Njue said it was unfortunate that such people, who he did not name, would destroy the country if Kenyans fall victim to their advice.
The Cardinal, who was accompanied by Catholic bishops from across the country was officiating the 50th Jubilee anniversary of Machakos Diocese.
“Before you say yes to anything, ask yourself whether it is good for your country,” said Njue.
The Cardinal said it was unfortunate most of what was being preached by some people was not for the betterment of Kenyans but was perpetuated by selfish interests.
He said Kenyans should pray for peace to prevail in the country.
Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, who also presided over the occasion held at Kenyatta Stadium said the current state of corruption will not allow the economy to grow unless something is done.
“Looters are respected and honoured at the expense of Kenyans, a trend that should change,” he said.
Others present were Makueni Deputy Governor Adelina Mwau, former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti and Machakos Women Rep Joyce Kamene.
