Migori man 'defiles student after drugging her at bus stage'

Police in Migori are looking for a man who drugged a Form Two student at a bus stage before defiling her.

The student was on her way back to school when she met the suspect at the Migori town bus stage.

He allegedly lured her into a conversation and drugged her.

The victim’s mother said her daughter left home for school on Tuesday and called her the following day to say she woke up in a lodging in Rongo town.

The girl could not remember how she ended up there.

The student said the last thing she remembered was talking to the suspect in Migori.

The victim’s mother wants the bar owner and attendants to tell the police who booked her 14-year-old daughter at their premise yet she was in school uniform.

She also questioned how the girl was ferried from Migori town to a pub in Rongo.

Rongo police boss Peter Kirui said officers visited the pub and arrested attendants.

The main suspect is still at large.
