Kibwezi KNUT officials charged

Kibwezi Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) officials who were on Tuesday evening arrested and later arraigned at Makindu court, where they were charged with disruption of Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) training exercise in various stations in Kibwezi Sub-County, in Makueni County.

Disruptions were witnessed in Isungulini Primary School, Kibwezi Township, Nthia primary in Makindu among other zones.

Gabriel Kisilu (Kibwezi Branch Secretary), Miriam Mwania (Branch Treasurer), and Henry Kivuva-a representative Kenya Union of Post Primary Teachers (KUPPET) pleaded not guilty before Damaris Karani, Makindu Resident Magistrate.

The three were released on each a cash bail of Sh20,000.

 They paid the cash bail and were released.  The case will be mentioned on May 8.
