The Embu County administration has pulled down roadside kiosks after the expiry of a 21-day notice to traders.

Small-scale traders found their business premises flattened yesterday morning. They claimed they had held discussions with county officials and had been promised that the eviction notice would be extended for an unspecified number of days.

Boniface Kinyua, who deals in secondhand textbooks, said the demolitions had robbed traders of their livelihood.
