Five powerful tips on how to have a second date

Relationships

With instant accessible internet connection, indeed the world has become a global village. This has impacted the way we, as humans, have been accustomed to doing certain things. One of this aspect of change is the way we relate to/with each other. Dating has not been left behind as well, every modern woman would for sure want a second date if she was smitten on the first one.

Nevertheless, we find ourselves having a string of first dates, one after the next. For some unknown reason, we can’t seem to get a second date. Either the texting fizzles out, or we misread how interested he actually was. Who knows? It could be one of a thousand reasons. So, why not share tips to help us get that second, third and even fourth date?

1. Put yourself in a positive state of mind

In as much as first dates can be scary and can turnout in whichever direction, it is important to maintain a positive state of mind. It will help you relax. Try to get yourself in a positive mindset and calm your nerves. This might mean meditating for 10 minutes, or jamming out to your favorite playlist while you get ready. Sometimes, it helps to have a friend there with you, pumping you up as you do your hair.

2. Find common interests

First date conversations require balance between getting to know someone and avoiding over familiarity. That means there are things you can talk about like any mutual passions, and things you shouldn’t mention, at least at first. Majority of relationship experts have advised that the only real no-go topic is that of ex partners.

3. Don’t feel like it needs to be love at first sight

Just be yourself and probably lower your expectations. Neither of us need to worry about making an impossibly great first impression. On a first date, everyone would just want to see if things feel comfortable and natural.

4. Pick the perfect outfit

We tend to feel extra nice and more confident if we know for sure we have dressed for the occasion and dressed well for that matter. You don't want to wear something you wouldn't normally rock, however. Your outfit should be a good representation of you. In general, opt for your favorite top or lucky pair of boots so you're feeling confident and comfortable throughout the night.

5. Offer to split the bill

If you think your date might pick up the bill and you're not sure how much food to order, ask them what they're getting. It's a totally nonchalant, normal question and then you can choose something around the same price. When the bill comes, offer to split it. If they really insist on paying, thank them and maybe next time offer to get ice cream on you.
