A boy was killed on Sunday 28, 2018 when a tipper rammed into a house in Kimnai village, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
According to the area chief Mr Francis Kanda, the driver of the tipper had left the vehicle by the road side to answer a call, one of the construction workers jumped onto it and accelerated, ramming into a house 70 metres near the road.
The tipper crashed the house, killing on 10-year-old boy who was watching television in the house.
Mr Kanda has confirmed to the Standard Digital that Anderson Kipkemei, a class three pupil from Kimnai Primary School will be buried on Friday later this week.
The driver and the worker who caused the accident were taken to on Monday. The duo denied the charges and are detained at Kapsowar Police Station pending further investigations. The suspects were constructing Kamathira-Cheptongei Road.
Area chief has also revealed that they are yet to agree on how the contractors will compensate for the damages caused.
Local leaders have condemned the incident asking the contractors tarmacking road to be more vigilant. Burial arrangements for the young boy are underway?.
