Governor to fire staff who attempted to steal Sh42 million from public

A county chief of staff who attempted to steal Sh42 million from public coffers has his days numbered as the county governor is said to be shopping for his replacement.

The last stroke that broke the camel’s back is when it was discovered that he was pushing for payment of Sh42 million that has already been paid out to suppliers.

Sources familiar with the development at the county says the governor who is known for his zero tolerance to corruption has made it clear that he would not defend anyone found stealing money meant for public use.

Ever since his theft antics were discovered, the chief of staff has been reduced to a spectator at the county.

He was stripped off all responsibilities and let to act as an errand boy to the governor. Sources say he has been only keen on enriching himself than supporting the governor’s development agenda.
