The above tweet from the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit has sparked outroar on social media, after the person behind the tweet seemingly put up a personal opinion which was seen to refer to lawyer Donald B. Kipkorir as a “slay queen and socialite lawyer.”
The tweet was seen to reply to Kipkorir’s tweet who had raised concerns about the rising number of kiosks, matatus and mitumba merchandise making way into the lavish Karen neighbourhood.
Your Excellencies Gov. @MikeSonko & Dep. Gov @IgathePolycarp , when we moved to Karen, we thought we were climbing up Maslow Hierarchy ... But what are kiosks, matatus & mitumba clothes doing here? Where is our Masterplan? Kenya is a Capitalist State. Let Karen be Karen. pic.twitter.com/6t06ozP7RI — Donald B Kipkorir (@DonaldBKipkorir) December 9, 2017
Several social media users took to twitter to raise their disappointments over what many termed as unprofessional and petty politics.
After much uproar, PSCU Kenya digital deleted the tweet and sent an apology saying it was just as regrettable and that necessary action would be taken on the perpetuer.
We apologize for a tweet that appeared on our timeline. We agree it was inappropriate. It has been deleted. Thanks for pointing it out. Administrative action has been taken. — PSCU Kenya Digital (@PSCU_Digital) December 12, 2017
