Former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has landed a job at State House.

According to sources, Mr Mbugua who was trounced by Lee Kinyanjui, will be handling President Uhuru Kenyatta’s diary.

“Mbugua is one of the president’s aide. He will be in charge of his (Uhuru’s) diary,” said the source who spoke to the Saturday Standard on condition of anonymity.

The former governor was promised a job by the President after agreeing to step down for Mr Kinyanjui after losing in the party nominations in the run up to the August 8 elections.

When reached for comment, the former governor declined to give details on his new role in government. “I’m serving the government and the people of Kenya in a new role,” he said.

Former Nakuru deputy governor Joseph Rutto said he was privy to the appointment but was yet to speak to Mbugua.

On Thursday, when the President met northern Kenya leaders at State House, Nairobi, and Mbugua was among those in attendance.
