Operations on nearly all flower farms in Naivasha are back to normal after closing due to last week's elections.

Only a few employees are yet to return to work. Some of them travelled upcountry to vote while others fled the town over fears chaos would erupt as was the case in 2007.

Kenya Plantation and Agricultural Workers Union local Secretary General Ferdinand Juma said workers were still reporting back to work.

"The one month of intense campaigns affected operations but these are now back to normal. Only a few people are yet to report as expected," said Mr Juma.

Naivasha was the epicentre of killings after the 2007 disputed presidential elections.
