It will be a repeat of last year’s finals as defending champions renew their rivalry when the Copa-Coca Cola national secondary schools Term Two ‘A’ games conclude today at Shanzu Teachers Training College in Mombasa.

Netball champions Kaya Tiwi School of Coast region clash with Obambo from Nyanza in the final after both teams overcame their opponents in the semi-finals yesterday.

Kaya Tiwi made it to the final after they defeated Mukuyu from Western 31-27 while Obambo saw off Rift Valley representatives Cheptil 54-23. The two finalists met last year in the final in Embu where Kaya Tiwi who were making their debut upset the three time champions Obambo.

However, today's match can go either way as Obambo coach Eddy Oremo is optimistic of recapturing the title they surrendered to Kaya Tiwi last year. Kaya Tiwi Team Manager Masika Hussein says nothing will stop them from retaining the title. “We are not ready to surrender our title,” said Masika.

Another repeat of last year will be witnessed in girls’ handball final. Defending champions Moi Girls Kamusinga of western take on Sega Girls from Nyanza today for the third year in a row. In the two previous meetings, Kamusinga has emerged victorious.

Kamusinga dismissed Nairobi’s New Jogoo 22-9 in the semi-final with Isabella Wanyama scoring seven goals for Kamusinga while Sheryll Opone had five goals for the losers. Sega landed in the final after beating St Francis Cheptarit of Rift Valley 29-15. Elizabeth Atieno and Caroline Atieno blasted six goals each while Daisy Kiplagat and Aurelia Jebet scored eight and four.

In boys' handball, Mukumu from Western beat Kanyawanga of Nyanza 22-12 while Nairobi’s Dr Ribiero dismissed Barani of Coast 24-9 in the semi-finals to qualify for the final.

In boys' football, new champions will be known today when Passenga from Central take on Kakamega in the final. Immediate former champions St Anthony did not make it to the knock-out stage. Passenga overcame Ramisi of Coast 1-0 with Harrison Mbuthia scoring the lone goal in the 43rd minute while Kakamega defeated Kisumu Day 1-0 where Basil Fortune notched home the only goal.[Ernest Ndunda]
