Two people were injured when violence erupted between NASA and Jubilee supporters in Kitengela, Kajiado County, on Sunday.

Police officers lobbed tear-gas canisters at a group that attempted to interrupt a political rally meant to drum up support for former Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku, who is eyeing the gubernatorial seat.

Among the injured was a woman who was fleeing from the chaos and a man who attempted to jump over a perimeter wall of Kitengela stadium.

Trouble started when more than 100 youth arrived at the Kitengela stadium waving campaign posters bearing pictures of NASA aspirants as the Jubilee meeting was going on.
