Thirty-five senior detectives have been moved in changes aimed at enhancing operations in their areas of jurisdiction.

Among those affected are three County Criminal Investigations Officers and 32 Divisional Criminal Investigation Officers (DCIOs).

The changes were announced by DCI Ndegwa Muhoro on Monday, saying they were aimed at enhancing investigations and address various gaps that had been identified.

The new Trans Nzoia County CCIO will be Festus Malinge while Mr Raphael Wawire was promoted and named the Isiolo CCIO. Mr Joseph Chumo was moved from DCI headquarters to Central region’s CCIO office.

Garissa County got a new CCIO with William Ngugi being named to the position.

Gigiri DCIO Daniel Kandie was moved to DCI headquarters’ complaints section and would be replaced by Garissa’s Daniel Muleli.

Dozens of other junior officers were moved in mass changes occasioned by the recent graduation of close to 10,000 recruits from police training colleges.

The changes affected officers of the ranks of constable, corporal and sergeant.

Meanwhile, the director of police personnel Mr Stanley Lemai has retired. Lemai left office last month after attaining his mandatory retirement age.
