Former Gor Mahia midfielder Moses Odhiambo wasted a penalty in the 85th minute to deny Sofapaka a of share the spoils as Sony Sugar defeated them 1-0 in a KPL match at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru yesterday.

Sofapaka, re-admitted into KPL by Sports Dispute Tribunal had numerous scoring opportunities in the first half.

However, Sony Sugar hit the back of the net via George Abege’s powerful angled drive in the 64th minute giving no chance to goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya. ‘Batoto Ba Mungu’ fought back and duly won a penalty in 85th minute after Sony’s Joseph Omweri handled the ball inside the box but Odhiambo blasted the ball wide.
