Kitui Governor Julius Malombe has declared that he is ready to face his challenger, Senator David Musila, in the Wiper party primaries.

Speaking at Kyangunga Africa Inland Church in Mulango ward, Kitui Central, Dr Malombe (right) said he doubted Mr Musila's capacity to manage county resources if elected in the August elections.

The governor challenged Musila to tell Kitui residents why he wanted to run for the governor's seat when he declined to do so in 2013, saying he was "too old" to fit in the challenging seat.

He vowed not to cede ground to Musila and eight Wiper MPs who want to arm-twist him into submitting to their vested interests.
