"We worked well with your government," said Moi to Durai.

The high commissioner described Moi as a legendary leader who was widely popular in India.

"The people of India hold you with high regard Your Excellency because of your leadership and your cordial relationship with our leaders," said Durai

Durai, on behalf of people of Indian descent, thanked Moi for allocating them land to build their temples.

At the same time, the envoy expressed sympathy with Kenyans following the attack in Somalia.

"We commiserate with Kenyans over attacks in Somalia. India has also suffered in the past the attacks and it is unfortunate," she said.
