Catholic church lauds efforts by Muslim faithful

Bishop Cornelius Korir of Eldoret Catholic Diocese
Eldoret Diocese Catholic Bishop Cornelius Korir has lauded the Muslim fraternity for their stand on peace and safety of other faithfuls.

Korir said he was pleased with religious leaders from diverse churches, particularly Muslims who are taking charge to ensure peace prevails.

He said the recent incident in Mandera County had dispelled the growing perception on the Muslims' relationship with other religious groups.

"As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we should also pray and appreciate our brothers particularly Muslims who have clearly shown interest in ensuring that we work together as a team to fight tribalism and doctrines that may in future plug the whole world into interdenominational war," said Korir.
