ITALIAN champions Juventus want to sign Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.

Daily star

The Mexican international, 24, has started just nine Premier League games this season - but he has impressed Juve enough for them to enquire about his services.

Juve see him as the ideal man to lead their frontline should a move for Real Madrid ace Gonazalo Higuain fall through.

But United won't let Hernandez leave Old Trafford - and have firmly told Juve that he is not for sale.

Fox-in-the-box Hernandez, who bagged 10 goals this campaign despite being used primarily from the bench, has been behind Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck in the pecking order.

However, David Moyes is still adamant that Hernandez is part of his Old Trafford plans.

The lively frontman was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2009 from Mexican outfit Guadalajara.
