Finance Minister Robinson Githae’s  honeymoon is over if he has not yet realised this salient fact. It might have escaped him that Kenyans are a mere seven months away from the General Election. If he missed all the usual signs we can remind him of the increased number of helicopters buzzing overhead with ‘Politician On Board’ stickers, a rise in bank robberies, and there is more ‘Haki Yetu!’ and ‘Solidarity Forever...’ compositions as teachers threaten to go on strike. Mr Githae might seek tips from predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta who confessed to having “cut a deal with teachers in the dead of night” before things became real elephant! Remember, these are the same fellows who were ordered to rest and not engage in teaching students in April, August, and December.
