The Mukamukuu Farmers Co-operative Society members in Kangundo, Machakos County, have petitioned to the Government to compensate them before implementing the proposed multi-billion shilling -tourist project on their farm.
Led by chairman Constantino Mutua, Maingi Ngolia (vice-chairman), and Stephen Kiania (secretary-general), the members said the proposal to build a five-star hotel at the society’s offices and a cable car at the nearby Kilimambogo hill will not be allowed unless they are compensated. The World Bank (WB) will fund the Sh 2.5billion project.
