Karua pitches for leaders of integrity

By David Ohito

Presidential aspirant Martha Karua has asked Kenyans to elect leaders untainted by corruption at the General Election.

The Gichugu MP described integrity as an absolute minimum requirement for all leaders seeking elective posts in the presidential race, the National Assembly and the county government.

She noted that although the devolved government will bring services and resources closer to the people, it could easily turn out to be a tool for enriching a few unless Kenyans voted with their conscience.

“Every Kenyan now has a sacred opportunity to determine the quality of life they live. If you want a functioning healthcare system, vote in leaders who value human life. If you want equal opportunities in education and employment for both the poor and the rich, vote with your conscience,” Karua reiterated.

“If you want a better environment for doing business, you can have that. If you want equity in the sharing of county resources, it is in your hands. Your vote is you ticket to all things: the good, the bad and the ugly. This time round, you must make it your business to vote for integrity; for yourself and for Kenya.”

She was speaking to residents of Mwatate and Voi during her tour of Taita Taveta County.

Emphasizing on the critical need for integrity, Karua urged party delegates to be vigilant and walk the talk.
