Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia continued with their dominance at the 90th Mashemeji Derby after edging out perennial rivals AFC Leopards 1-0 in the midweek FKF Premier League match played at Kasarani on Wednesday.
K’Ogalo has now won nine of their last 12 meetings with Ingwe since 2016 with the three matches finishing in draws.
Boniface Omondi’s first half strike was enough to hand the former champions the win that takes Gor to joint second in the standings with six points same as Posta Rangers, Bandari, Kariobangi Sharks and Kakamega Homeboyz.
The win saw Gor maintain their perfect start to the season.
Omondi scored the winner in the 25th minute after AFC Leopards goalkeeper Maxwell Mulili came off his line and failed to deal with the danger.
