 NAIROBI, KENYA: Police are investigating an incident in which an elderly woman was murdered and both her hands and legs chopped off in Matasia area.

 The motive of the Tuesday night incident is yet to be known. Police said they were informed by the deceased’s son David Nganga Lepaso that he went to check on his mother aged 71 who stays alone in Siranga village.

The mother did not respond but when he forced the door open, he found her body lying in a pool of blood with her legs and the hands chopped off.

 Nairobi Area police boss Benson Kibui said detectives are investigating the murder.

Meanwhile police are investigating an incident in which two men of Chinese origin were on Tuesday evening robbed of Sh2 million cash in Ngorongo Road in Karen, moments after they had withdrawn the cash.

The two, Xie Wen Ping and Tang Zueng Jung were returning from the Bank when their car was blocked by another saloon car with three armed occupants.

The three took control of the vehicle before robbing the duo of Sh2.039 million before they dumped their victims and drove away with their car, a grey BMW.

The vehicle was however later recovered at near the Lenana Forest Primary School.

The suspects hit the victims with the butt of their firearms and both Mr Ping, 36, and Mr Jung, 46, sustained injuries on their heads and rushed to the Karen Hospital where they were treated and discharged.

Two weeks ago, armed thugs robbed Chinese workers over Sh7million along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.

 The robbers confronted the victims near Karai trading center, Naivasha before escaping.
