Students of Moi University marched to the administration block during the week seeking audience with the VC over the delay of Helb funds.
They complained that the administration had done little to address the delay.
Deputy VC Prof Nathan Ogechi however said the university is working hard to ensure the funds are disbursed in time.
“We have been talking with the Helb office about the release of funds,” Prof Ogechi said.
“Two senior officers have been sent to Nairobi to continue negotiations with the loans body.”
In the past, Helb has faced challenges over the unpredictable academic calendar of Moi University since it works on a fixed programme pegged on a financial year.
