Nairobi, Kenya: Selest Kilinda, the Managing Director of Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), was on Wednesday evening suspended from office.
He joins George Okungu who crashed under the infamous Triton oil saga in 2008.
In October last year, KPC was in the eye of a storm when the Parliamentary Committee on Equal Opportunity accused the parastatal’s top management of nepotism.
Top management was also accused of failing to stem systemic inefficiencies in the organisation.
Perhaps the most memorable event under Kilinda’s tenure was the unfortunate fire incident at the Sinai Slums in 2011 that left close to 100 people dead and several hundreds maimed.
