I am a big fan of Miss Tamima’s column (it’s a must-read every Friday). Last week’s article, We all have sins, just as the Nyali delegation, hit the nail on the head.

I sympathise with the 11 girls who were allegedly caught acting in a pornographic film in Nyali, Mombasa.

The nation has condemned them yet there are many unanswered questions about the Swiss national – Christoph Clement Weissenerid – arrested with the girls.

Everyone ignored the mzungu as though he was a saint.

No one has paused to ask, why would someone who allegedly quit his job with an international organisation would still be driving vehicles bearing the organisation’s registration number? How is it that this man, as was alleged, was involved in porn trade yet we have intelligence agencies?

Again, we did not consider that for pornography to exist, there must be consumers somewhere, whether in Kenya or abroad.

Some of its consumers are among those who condemned the 11 girls.

As a nation we did not even attempt to trace the root cause of the alleged acts.

This trend of condemning a select few is common among Kenyans.

For instance, whenever police raid Koinange Street to arrest sex workers we unleash venom on the girls but forget their ‘clients’ who are men.

When we encounter families begging on the streets with children on their backs we blame them for giving birth but forget that sober men impregnated some of them.
