Gor Mahia coach Zradvko Logarusic has expressed fears that City Stars are a real threat to his side as they face off this afternoon at City Stadium, Nairobi.

“They are very dangerous because you never know when they will strike.

“Sometimes it is easier to play the bigger sides because there is always the danger that your players will underrate smaller opposition with costly consequences,” he said ahead of the 3pm kick-off fixture.

Gor go into this match still basking in their 1-0 win over arch-rivals AFC Leopards last Sunday and will be hoping that Ugandan import Dan Sserunkuma is in great shape to lead them to another important win.

If Gor Mahia win today, they will move into the top three position for the first time this season, whicxh would be their best start in three years.

Even at their worst, City Stars are known as the bogey team of top Kenyan Premier League (KPL) sides. They stage upsets with ease and will be no push-overs today.

Two weeks ago, the giant killers stopped AFC Leopards 2-1 after coming from a goal down to win at City Stadium.

Unlike the previous two seasons when they started badly, this time the Kawangware outfit have had a better start and look extremely motivated with Gambian coach Bye Wadda at the helm.

The team look solid this season with a host of experienced players in their line-up.  At the back they have John Amboko and Arthur Museve capable of stopping any attacks from their opponents.

However, it is in the midfield where Stars are strongest. Experienced Dennis Okoth and Silas Aluvisia provide awesome linkage with the front men Justus Basweti and Eric Muranda.

Elsewhere, wounded AFC Leopards are back in Mumias for only the third time this season as they take on Ulinzi Stars today.

Leopards have won only twice this season and one of the victories was at Mumias Complex where they blanked Kakamega Homeboyz 3-0 one month ago.

It was the biggest win so far by the former Kenyan champions and it is something they will look back to for inspiration against Ulinzi.

The man under pressure is Luc Eymael, who has failed to turn around the club despite coming on board with the aim of getting them back on the winning track.

Leopards have improved in their level of play, but that is not enough.  For goals, Leopards will look up to Noah Wafula, the newcomer who has revolutionised the team’s attack.
