A long serving priest in-charge of Nanyuki Christ the King Catholic Parish, Franco Crabu, is admitted to Huruma Mission Hospital after his employee allegedly attacked him.

Fr Crabu was hit on the head with a hammer by one of his employees.

Chairman Samson Mburugu said the motive of the attack is still unknown. He said the suspect arrived at the priest’s house on Monday evening and demanded to speak to him.

“He told the night guard he wanted to speak to the priest. He is well known in the compound, and so the guard allowed him to access the priest,” said Mburugu.

He then proceeded to the house, where he attacked the priest.

Fr Crabu was working on his computer and the employee escaped immediately after the attack.

The assailant fled in a car hired from a private car company in Nanyuki town. The priest was rushed to Cottage Hospital, before he was taken to Consolata Mission Hospital in Mathari-Nyeri, for a head scan.

Laikipia East police boss Joshua Lutukai said an investigation has been launched. The OCPD said the suspect is still at large, but they are lookigng for him.
