Vihiga, Kenya: Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga has dismissed former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s call on the international community over insecurity in Busia and Bungoma counties.
Mr Akaranga said demands by Raila for detectives from abroad to investigate the attacks that have left 13 people dead and hundreds injured were unjustified.
“Raila’s call on the international community to come and investigate the crime is nonsense…he should stop adoring foreigners and trust the institutions he helped form,” he said.
Akaranga was speaking at the county headquarters after he moved to his new offices Monday.
Deputy Governor Caleb Amaswache and County Secretary Linet Abdalla accompanied Akaranga.
Raila, while on a tour of Busia and Bungoma counties on Sunday, said the international community should intervene and investigate attacks in the region.
