Church leaders in the North Rift have expressed confidence that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration will put in place qualified Cabinet Secretaries to deliver quality services.
Bishop Cornelius Korir of Eldoret Catholic Church also welcomed the new style adopted by President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto in unveiling the Cabinet Secretary nominees.
“I congratulate President Uhuru and his deputy Ruto on how they have named the nominee secretaries by giving details about their background. It best explains that the appointments are based on qualifications,” Korir told The Standard on telephone.
He added: “We have full confidence because the appointments are based on qualifications and not political terms.” On the attire of the President and his deputy (white shirts and red ties), Korir said it was a sign of unity in the new Government.
“We are seeing a new change in the Government and I congratulate President Uhuru and his deputy Ruto. It is for the first time a President answers questions from the media,” said Korir.
