MACHAKOS, KENYA: There was drama in Machakos when two employees of a local tycoon developed a ‘mysterious condition’ that sent them into a deep slumber.
The two were found sleeping side by side outside the tycoon’s Auto spares shop at Grogan along the Machakos-Kitui road early yesterday.
The owner said the two became “sick” in their respective houses in the night, hours after they denied they were part of a gang that robbed him last week on Monday.
Following the theft, the trader consulted a witchdoctor who guided him on what steps he should take to nub the culprits.
On Monday, the tycoon had accosted by three men as he prepared to close his shop around 7.00pm. The gang proceeded to rob him of over Sh200, 000 at gunpoint.
Machakos police station was a beehive of activity as curious onlookers came to witness the mysterious incident.
The victim’s wives and relatives were asked to contribute ksh.150, 000.00 for each of them as fees for the witch doctor to reverse their condition.
“The doctor has agreed to take an advance of Ksh.10,000.00 to “cure” the victims so that they could go and look for the balance,” said the businessman who sought anonymity.
