Nairobi, Kenya: The National Police Service Commission is set to name its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Friday after concluding interviews.

Ten candidates were interviewed for the position and the commission says it is ready to name the new CEO.

The CEO will run the commission’s administrative matters. The development comes as the commission took its wars to President Uhuru on Wednesday and sought his intervention in solving wars between it and office of the Inspector General of Police.

Some of the commissioners sought the meeting with Uhuru and were granted permission before they went for discussions that lasted for up to four hours at State House.

Details and conclusions of the meeting were scanty but officials said Uhuru was keen to having a reformed police service that is responsive to the public.

He is said to have ordered for the shelving of the proposed changes until some of the key reforms are met.
