KISII, KENYA: Kisii County Judge Ruth Sitati has warned members of the public to be wary of conmen posing as lawyers outside the local law courts.
Justice Sitati cautioned on those seeking services at the court saying that they should be extra vigilant. She added that conmen were roaming the corridors of justices pretending to assist clients all the while posing as judicial officers.
“The ‘self-proclaimed lawyers’ acting as brokers at times pose as court attendants to siphon money from the innocent clients. These are busy bodies who are in the court premises with ill intentions,” she said.
She further stated that no one will be allowed to give out cash outside court premises without receipt.
The judge was speaking during the launch of the customer care service centre, the security bay and the Kenya Commercial Bank Mtaani branch at the court.

Justice Sitati said that clients of the court will be secure inside the court premises.
The newly launched customer care centre will inform the public on matters pertaining to the court.
The judges warning came in the recent publication of bogus lawyers operating in Kisii by the Law Society of Kenya(LSK).
