Two chicken thieves were shot dead on April 10 in Mihango estate of Embakasi.
They raided a chicken pen in one of the homes stuffing 12 birds and two chicks in a gunny bag.
The owner of the coop called the police, who later trailed the gang, killing the two.
Police recovered a packet of unused condoms and a pair of pliers used to break into the cage.
“We suspect these young men are rapists because of the many condoms they had,” Tom Akama, a resident, told The Nairobian.
The hens were not harmed and were returned to the owner.
Local Administration Police said chicken theft has been rampant in Mihango.
Kayole police boss Samuel Mukindia said they are looking for a member of the gang, who escaped.
