Migori, Kenya: Four minors have been admitted at various hospitals in Migori County after they were defiled.

The minors aged between 7 years to 11 years were allegedly defiled by people known to them, sparking an outcry in the area.

According to police, in one case, an eight-year-old girl was defiled by her biological father in at their home Nyasare area while her mother was away.

Aggrieved neighbours threatened to lynch him but took to his heels when he slipped from their grip and police in the area are still searching for him.

Makoma called on residents to join hands with police to assist with information that would lead to the arrest of culprits.

“This is something that requires a joint effort between police and public. I urge residents to report to the police any person suspected to have committed the offence,” he said.

This comes barely a week after a 12-year-old boy was sodomised and killed in Nyabohanse town, Kuria West District.

The boy, who was in class three at a local Primary School in the area, is believed to have been lured by a suspect who sexually molested and strangled him.

Area OCPD Paul Kiogora said the suspect had called the deceased and another boy but allegedly sent one of them to buy him airtime credit top –up card for his mobile phone.

“After the other boy had gone, he dragged the boy into the bush where he sodomised and killed him before throwing his body into a water tank at Nyabohanse trading centre,” Kiogora said.
