Nairobi, Kenya: Seven people were Sunday evening injured after a building they were constructing sunk in Nairobi’s Parklands area.
The seven were working on a seven-storey building when it suddenly sunk partially trapping them.
Police and witnesses said one of them sustained a fracture in the leg. The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.
Nairobi Area head of police Benson Kibue said the building may have sunk because of the rains that have been experienced in Nairobi and its environs.
“We have asked experts to come and assess the situation and if they find it is still dangerous all other people living in the surrounding will be asked to evacuate,” said Kibue.
He said the site was under police watch as other officials were still searching for any more survivors.
