KENYA: Mandera County Senator Billow Kerrow has said his county deserves a position in the Jubilee Cabinet. He said in the March 4 General Election, the county overwhelmingly voted in Jubilee Coalition with 98 per cent of total votes cast going to President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta, a record not witnessed anywhere else.
He said the Jubilee Coalition, made up of the United Republican Party and The National Alliance scooped all elective seats – seven MPs, a governor, senator and 27 county representative.
“Based on the significant votes we gave to Jubilee, our people are entitled to an enhanced ministerial post,” he said. The Senator said the community has competent professionals capable of handling any portfolio in the public service..
He said it would be historic for Mandera people if Jubilee leadership awarded them a ministerial position, noting previous successive governments ignored the county.
