This Sunday, DStv Channel O viewers will be treated to one of the most spectacular shows to ever be filmed in Nairobi, Kenya.
Anchored by Kenya’s very own Channel O veejay Joey Muthengi and Denrele from Nigeria, the big show captures a major music spectacle of continental showbiz acts who were hosted in the city last weekend for the first recording of Channel O News.
The exclusive shooting, that was graced by a selected audience of 80, was held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) on Sunday and featured interviews as well as performances by DJ Crème and DJ Joe, Camp Mullah, Wyre, Khuli Channah, Banky W, Wiz Kid and Shaydee as well as deejays Exclusive and Niyola. Others were Channel O video deejays Jokate, Flavia and J Town, Sauti Sol, Prezzo and Goldie.
“This is the first of many such tours that O News will embark on and be able to truly capture the vibe and pure love of original African music that our viewers have,” said Channel O manager Leslie Kasumba.
She also reminded Kenyans to vote for their local artistes Camp Mulla, who have multiple nominations for the 2012 Channel O Video Music Awards; Most Gifted Newcomer Video, Most Gifted African East Video and a high-profile nomination in the Most Gifted Video of the Year category for the video for Fresh All Day.
The weekend was not short of fun as hundreds gathered at the Ngong’ Race Course, Nairobi, for the Mingle event — a social gathering outing for born 1980s and 1990s, that features sports and fun.
It was a cocktail of sorts as Pulsers partied out all evening with deejay Crème on the decks.
