Police in Iten are holding a suspect who allegedly hacked another woman to death when she found her making love with her husband.
Veronica Cheruto Kemboi, 32, is said to have met her death after they were caught red handed on Thursday night at Kokwao location in Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
Armed with an axe, Charity Kibet, 33, hacked the woman on the head and later surrendered herself to the nearest Administration Police camp.
“She admitted killing the woman claiming she was destroying her marriage,” said Keiyo deputy OCPD James Musyimi.
The deputy OCPD said Charity trailed the two and found them having an affair in the kitchen in her compound.
The villagers after receiving an alarm of what happened, flocked the scene and found the deceased body lying in a pool of blood.
“I wonder why nowadays people take the law into their hands like this. Why don’t they seek advice first?,” Musyimi wondered.
He, however, said the police have launched a manhunt for the husband so that they can interrogate them.
“We have launched investigation into the incident and the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as the investigations are complete,” Musyimi added.
