With irate fans to flee from and a stubborn music band demanding for performance fee, Ulopa Ngoma had a long night at Club Lambada, Mtwapa, last Saturday as his dream of launching his new video came crumbling down.

After the great pre-event media hype, nothing seemed to go Ulopa’s way. The event started off late in the night with Coastal musicians taking to the stage to showcase their prowess.

“This event is all about the debut of our latest collabo with Collo and I intend to sign up the best Coastal singer for my label,” Ulopa told Pulse minutes before things fell apart.

As the hours went by into the night, this camaraderie between Ulopa and the expected signings changed and the mood deteriorated, before the artistes stomped out ranting and raving.

Hell broke loose as the band on stage started packing in order to leave. In fact, it took the wit of Moses Manta, the event organiser, to restore calm and save the day. The party went on.

“The band wanted payment before their performance,” one of musician from the Ulopa Ngoma camp told Pulse. This was a big blow to the club owing to the fact that the previous night, Jua Cali had hosted one of the biggest shows witnessed in the recent past.
