Every constituency will have a special fund similar to the CDF once United Republican Party Presidential aspirant William Ruto becomes the president.
Ruto said the special fund would be meant to borrow loans for women and youth who do not have security like title deeds or log books.
He said the fund will not attract any interest and will help raise the living standards of people at the grassroots.
Eradicate poverty
Speaking at Chogoria in Maara District, Keeria, Nkubu, Kariene and Gakoromone in Meru County during his first day of his three-day tour of the area, the Eldoret North MP said the funds are the only way of eradicating poverty in the country.
“Every constituency will have a special fund for women and youth to get loans without attracting interest rates,” said Ruto.
He said the 16 per cent of the national budget, which is said to be given to the county Government should be increased to 40 per cent.
Ruto aid the move will bring prosperity, unity and peace in the country.
“Kenya does not need a miracle or prayers to be prosperous but an action oriented leader like me to attain its development target,” said the Eldoret North MP.
He said he is the most qualified person to become the next president of Kenya after the expiry of President Kibaki’s term, due to his experience, track record and development record.
He urged Kenyans to shun empty rhetoric and leaders who specialise on planning demonstrations and opposing everything the Government says or does.
“The next Government will be composed of action-oriented leaders who will eradicate poverty completely, unemployment and lack of medication among other things,” said Ruto.
He said agriculture will be commercialised at the grassroots to enable farmers have money to purchase other basic commodities.
Ruto said prices of farm inputs and equipments will be reduced to enable farmers earn maximum profits.
“The move will change economic fortunes at the grassroots level by eradicating poverty completely,” said Ruto.
He said a fruits processing plant would be established at Nkubu market to add value to final produce and increase profits.
Former National Assembly Speaker and URP Chairman Francis Kaparo and Assistant Minister Kareke Mbiuki, MPs Joseph Kutuny, Benjamin Langat, Kazungu Kambi and Kiptanui Koech accompanied Ruto.
